The fourth annual Raleigh Jaycees‘ Big Air Mountain Bike Race was held in Raleigh, NC on Sunday, September 7th at Harris Lake County Park, which is located just south of Raleigh. Harris Lake Park is one of few area parks that has dedicated mountain biking trails. Over the past few years, these trails have quickly become great riding trails due to the hard work of the Wake County Parks staff, the NC Fats Mountain Biking Club, and the Raleigh Jaycees. Hundreds of man-hours were put into making these trails exciting. Those of you who raced the last few years can attest to the high quality of these trails.

The racecourse consists of cross-country, tight single track with many challenging obstacles (a.k.a. large logs and log pyramids strategically placed on the trail), jumps, and hairpin turns. For those of you not familiar with the trails, you need to be. This is a great place to ride. Worthy of a road trip to check it out.

The Raleigh Jaycees is a not-for-profit organization seeking to serve the community. All proceeds from the race will be donated to the North Carolina Jaycee Burn Center at UNC Hospitals.
