THE COURSE The course is fast, tight, single track with virtually no elevation gain. The race loop will be a combination of the different beginner, intermediate, and advanced loops. We will be having several trail maintenance days prior to the race, if interested in helping with our trail maintenance days e-mail KDownes@peoplepc.com for information as to when we will be working. The course is open daily from 8am till 8pm for pre-riding, weather permitting. You can call the park at 919-387-4342 to find out if the trails are open. THE PRIZES Due to the outstanding reputation of the Raleigh Jaycees we are able to solicit many super sponsors. We are working to bring in great gifts, which we can in turn hand out as prizes. The prizes that we had last race were awesome, including some great merchandise. We hope to continue in that same tradition. YOUR SAFETY All participants are required to wear ANSI (American National Standards Institute) or Snell approved helmets while on the bicycle (racing or warming up). Flagrant disobedience (in an attempt to look cool, insane, or otherwise) will result in disqualification. Mountain bikes only. No hybrids, cross bikes, or drop bars allowed. HOW TO GET THERE From the 440 beltline around Raleigh, take Rt. 1 south towards Sanford. Approximately 12 miles from beltline until you reach exit 89. Take Exit 89. At the top of the exit ramp turn left onto New Hill Holleman Rd. Go about 2.5 miles to the park entrance. You will pass the Shearon Harris Nuclear Plant visitor Center on your right. About a 1.5 miles past that you will find the park entrance on your right. Head towards the back of the park and there will be signs directing you where to park.
